QTL for nicotine sensitivity on Chr13 at D13Mit218 (22.75 Mbp , Build 37)
Description:
nicotine sensitivity spans 0.00 - 47.75 Mbp (NCBI Build 37) on Chr13. This interval was obtained by using an interval width of 25 Mbp around the peak marker (Build 37, MGI, http://informatics.jax.org).
Analysis performed on raw data in GEO2R with default settings. These are derived sets from the publication data. The data is available in GEO, and was analyzed using default setting in their suite of tools. This allowed the production of age independent differential expression set to be created for bHR vs bLR by brain region. Something not presented in the paper.

Genes with particular expression in the Piriform-amygdalar area, polymorph layer. Data represent fold expression difference in structure versus grey matter average expression.
The effects of aging on gene expression in hippocampal tissues dissected from C57BL/6 mice was profiled. Mice were of ages 1, 6, 16, and 24 mo, with ten mice per age cohort (five mice of each sex). mRNA from each tissue sample was sampled and radiolabeled cDNA was generated, which was then hybridized to two filter membranes containing a total of 16,896 cDNA clones corresponding to 8,932 genes. p-value was uploaded.

Coefficient defined as amount of change in Z-normalized expression per month. Expression data are log2 transformed and normalized by using a Z-transformation, as explained mathematically in Cheadle et al. (2003).

Significant differential expression (p-value <.05) of the liver after chronic ethanol exposure in mice. Positive or Negative fold change (FC) indicates up regulation and down regulation in treated group. Treatment and control groups consisted of 10 female C57BL/6J mice per group. Statistic reported as fold change.
