Acute and chronic alcohol exposure was analyzed in 534 (C57BL/6J x C3H/HeJ)F2 mice. In the present study Aaq1, a previously mapped QTL on mouse Chromosome 15 linked to alcohol acceptance, is confirmed using a (C57BL/6J x DBA/2J)F2 population. Aaq1 mapped to 15 cM (D15Mit60)- 48 cM (D15Mit34) on mouse Chromosome 15 with a peak LOD score of 3.8 at approximately 30 cM. C57BL/6J-derived alleles confer increased alcohol acceptance in a dominant fashion at Aaq1. A potential candidate gene for Aaq1 is the peripheral benzodiazepine receptor gene, Bzrp.

The effects of aging on gene expression in hippocampal tissues dissected from C57BL/6 mice was profiled. Mice were of ages 1, 6, 16, and 24 mo, with ten mice per age cohort (five mice of each sex). mRNA from each tissue sample was sampled and radiolabeled cDNA was generated, which was then hybridized to two filter membranes containing a total of 16,896 cDNA clones corresponding to 8,932 genes. p-value was uploaded.

Genes downregulated in livers of Eif2ak3(Perk)-mutant mice 30 minutes after perfusion witht tBuHQ. tBuHQ is used to generate ER-stress. Sequences reported in the manuscript were used to search the Mouse Genome Informatics (MGI) resource using the batch query form on June 22, 2018. Sequences that did not match were investigated manually. In some cases, sequence identifiers were identified by cross-referencing the array data in the Gene Expression Omnibus. Sequences that were associated with putative assignments to gene identifiers via a 'probe' relationship in MGI were included. Values represent z-scores. Higher scores were used for genes represented more than once.
