Gene Ontology (GO) gene set. This set contains genes that have been annotated to the GO term "cellular response to hypoxia", which is defined as "Any process that results in a change in state or activity of a cell (in terms of movement, secretion, enzyme production, gene expression, etc.) as a result of a stimulus indicating lowered oxygen tension. Hypoxia, defined as a decline in O2 levels below normoxic levels of 20.8 - 20.95%, results in metabolic adaptation at both the cellular and organismal level." This gene set was automatically constructed using annotation and ontology data provided by GO and only includes annotations with experimental and curatorial evidence codes (EXP, IDA, IPI, IMP, IGI, IEP, TAS, IC). The transitive closure of this term is taken into account using is_a and part_of relationships.
