GeneSet Information

Tier I GS270708 • GWAS Catalog Data for thoracic aortic aneurysm, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm, brain aneurysm in 1,516 European ancestry intracranial aneurysm cases, 818 European ancestry abdominal aortic aneurysm cases, 760 European ancestry thoracic aortic aneurysm cases, 9,507 European ancestry controls

DESCRIPTION:

List of positional candidate genes after correcting for multiple testing and controlling the false discovery rate from genome wide association studies (GWAS) retrieved from the NHGRI-EBI Catalog of published genome-wide association studies (http://www.ebi.ac.uk/gwas/). The disease/trait examined in this study, as reported by the authors, was Intracranial, abdominal aortic or thoracic aortic aneurysm (pleiotropy). The EFO term thoracic aortic aneurysm, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm, brain aneurysm was annotated to this set after curation by NHGRI-EBI. Intergenic SNPS were mapped to both the upstream and downstream gene. P-value uploaded. This gene set was generated using gwas2gs v. 0.1.8 and the GWAS Catalog v. 1.0.1.

TITLE:

Shared Genetic Risk Factors of Intracranial, Abdominal, and Thoracic Aneurysms.

JOURNAL:

Journal of the American Heart Association Jul 2016, Vol 5, pp. None

ABSTRACT:

Intracranial aneurysms (IAs), abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs), and thoracic aortic aneurysms (TAAs) all have a familial predisposition. Given that aneurysm types are known to co-occur, we hypothesized that there may be shared genetic risk factors for IAs, AAAs, and TAAs. PUBMED: 27418160
