GeneSet Information

Tier I GS268998 • GWAS Catalog Data for HIV-1 infection in 51 European ancestry rapid progressor male cases, 57 European ancestry moderate progressor male cases, 48 European ancestry long-term progressor male cases

DESCRIPTION:

List of positional candidate genes after correcting for multiple testing and controlling the false discovery rate from genome wide association studies (GWAS) retrieved from the NHGRI-EBI Catalog of published genome-wide association studies (http://www.ebi.ac.uk/gwas/). The disease/trait examined in this study, as reported by the authors, was HIV-1 progression. The EFO term HIV-1 infection was annotated to this set after curation by NHGRI-EBI. Intergenic SNPS were mapped to both the upstream and downstream gene. P-value uploaded. This gene set was generated using gwas2gs v. 0.1.8 and the GWAS Catalog v. 1.0.1.

TITLE:

Multistage genomewide association study identifies a locus at 1q41 associated with rate of HIV-1 disease progression to clinical AIDS.

JOURNAL:

The Journal of infectious diseases Feb 2010, Vol 201, pp. 618-26

ABSTRACT:

A mean of 9-10 years of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) infection elapse before clinical AIDS develops in untreated persons, but this rate of disease progression varies substantially among individuals. To investigate host genetic determinants of the rate of progression to clinical AIDS, we performed a multistage genomewide association study. PUBMED: 20064070
