DESCRIPTION:
It has been established that Drosophila melanogaster have similar tolerance mechanisms to ethanol and anesthetic benzyl alcohol. Authors compared both ethyl and benzyl alcohol treated flies against controls in histone 4 (H4) acetylation using ChIP-ChIP in overlapping annotated gene transcription start sites. Several genes differentially acetylated were found in both ethyl and benzyl alcohol treated flies, but this list represents only intersecting genes, which are possibly involved in alcohol tolerance.
