List of positional candidate genes after correcting for multiple testing and controlling the false discovery rate from genome wide association studies (GWAS) retrieved from the NHGRI-EBI Catalog of published genome-wide association studies (http://www.ebi.ac.uk/gwas/). The disease/trait examined in this study, as reported by the authors, was Corticobasal degeneration. The EFO term Corticobasal degeneration was annotated to this set after curation by NHGRI-EBI. Intergenic SNPS were mapped to both the upstream and downstream gene. P-value uploaded. This gene set was generated using gwas2gs v. 0.1.8 and the GWAS Catalog v. 1.0.1.

A genetically heterogeneous, multifaceted disorder characterized by short stature, webbed neck, ptosis, skeletal malformations, hypertelorism, hormonal imbalance, CRYPTORCHIDISM, multiple cardiac abnormalities (most commonly including PULMONARY VALVE STENOSIS), and some degree of INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY. The phenotype bears similarities to that of TURNER SYNDROME that occurs only in females and has its basis in a 45, X karyotype abnormality. Noonan syndrome occurs in both males and females with a normal karyotype (46,XX and 46,XY). Mutations in a several genes (PTPN11, KRAS, SOS1, NF1 and RAF1) have been associated the the NS phenotype. Mutations in PTPN11 are the most common. LEOPARD SYNDROME, a disorder that has clinical features overlapping those of Noonan Syndrome, is also due to mutations in PTPN11. In addition, there is overlap with the syndrome called neurofibromatosis-Noonan syndrome due to mutations in NF1.

The total transcriptome including genes that are differentially expressed in cocaine addicts compared to control subjects. Post-mortem brain samples were collected from the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (dlPFC) of the cocaine addict group and the control group. To assess gene expression, RNA-seq was performed. Data taken from Supplementary Table 2. Values presented are k.diff values. Data available from GEO with accession number GSE99349."

Differential gene expression between CS15 and CS22 - Adj-P value
Description:
Human craniofacial tissues were collected from the Joint MRC/Wellcome Trust Human Developmental Biology (HDBR). Donations of tissue to HDBR are made under-informed ethical consent with Research Tissue Bank ethical approval by women undergoing termination of pregnancy. Gene expression profiles were generated from multiple biological replicates of primary craniofacial (CF) tissue from Carnegie Stages (CS) of the embryonic period, CS13, CS14, CS17, CS17 and CS22. Here the differential expression comparison between CS15 and CS22 is shown. Gene expressions values, Ensembl Gene ids and the corresponding Adjusted P value are presented. UBERON:0015789, cranial or facial muscle.

Opioid controls_human_ dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and nucleus accumbens_coefficient
Description:
RNA sequencing on the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) and nucleus accumbens (NAc) from unaffected comparison subjects (n = 20) and subjects diagnosed with opioid use disorder OUD (n = 20). Transcriptomic analyses identified differentially expressed transcripts and investigated the transcriptional coherence between brain regions using rank-rank hypergeometric orderlap.transcriptional differences by brain region in unaffected comparison subjects, finding unique transcriptional profiles in the DLPFC and NAc

This study identified genes in the chromosome 4 QTL interval that affect alcoholic predisposition in congenic mice strains in which inbred alcohol preferring (iP) chromosome 4 QTL interval was transferred to inbred non-alcohol preferring (iNP) mice strain (NP.P). This gene set contains 23 upregulated genes that were differentially expressed in five brain regions (amygdale, frontal cortex, striatum, nucleus acumbens, and hippocampus) in these NP.P mice.
Changes in gene expression in neuron-like, SH-SY5Y human neuroblastoma cells, is analyzed following 24 hours of continuous exposure to 1 mM nicotine and several nicotine-induced cellular changes in acetylcholine receptor are found. Microarray analysis of gene expression shows significantly and consistently altered genes during nicotine treatment with a p-value of less than 0.01.
